Steven L. “Steve” Thompson passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023 at the age of 63. He was born in Laurel on Feb. 21, 1960. He was a member of West Laurel United Methodist Church.
Steve loved the outdoors, children and animals. He had a generous spirit and no one ever left his home hungry. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Shirley Holifield Thompson and Jack Thompson; his brother Philip R Thompson; and sister Karla Thompson Breazeale.
He is survived by his wife Susan Bird Thompson; son Michael L Thompson (Stephanie); grandchildren Aubrey Thompson and Aiden Thompson; brother Michael Thompson (Debbie); sister Lisa Thompson Murray (Terry); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. at West Laurel United Methodist Church with service to follow at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to local animal shelters or his church.
