An adult film actress was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to hiring a hitman in a failed murder-for-hire scheme to kill the father of one of her children.
Katrina L. Danforth, 32, who appeared in pornographic films under the name Lynn Pleasant and Lynn Passion, was handed the sentence in an Idaho courtroom on Tuesday.
She was accused of agreeing to pay a hitman, who was later revealed to be an undercover police officer, $5,000 to kill a former partner in 2018.
U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill also ordered Danforth to serve three years of supervised probation following her prison sentence and pay a $1,000 fine.
Danforth pleaded guilty to two counts of use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder for hire in August 2019. She originally pleaded not guilty to any crimes.
Defense attorney's argued that Danforth underwent a volatile childhood, including sexual violence, before going into adult entertainment.

Danforth, also known as Lynn Pleasant and Lynn Passion, said she wanted the father of one of her children killed because he was allegedly abusing the child
Similarly, Danforth said on Tuesday that she pursued the horrendous plot because she believed the father had abused the child.
Prosecutors said the claim was unfounded and lacked evidence.
Winmill called Danforth's 20-minute speech a deflection of responsibility for her actions and was concerned at her attempt to justify the situation.
He recommended Danforth be sent to the Federal Correctional Institute, Dublin in California, a low-security prison for females.

ShareAccording to The Spokesman-Review, investigators became aware of the murder plot after Danforth confided in a friend that she wanted the father of one of her two children killed.
Danforth and the father, known only as R.H., were in the throes of an ongoing custody battle at the time.
The friend passed the contact information of a hitman to Danforth, who arranged to meet with the pseudo criminal in October 2018 to discuss the killing for $5,000.

The murder plot began when Danforth (pictured) contacted a 'hitman' to kill R.H. in October 2018 after confiding in a friend that she wanted the man dead
She communicated with the 'hitman' on November 9, twice on November 10 and once on November 19.
'She had specific requirements that the hit man was to accomplish, such as (the victim’s) body had to be found and (she) did not care if others who lived in the home were harmed as long as her own child was not harmed', Assistant U.S. Attorney Traci Whelan said.
In court, prosecutors played a recording of the conversation that showed Danforth saying she didn't even care if R.H.'s other two children were harmed. At the time, they were ages two and four.

Danforth (pictured) was arrested in December 2018 at the Spokane International Airport after she spent a weeks-long vacation in Hawaii
She sent alleged hitman a 'thank you' card with a $2,500 down payment for the killing to his address in Montana. The other half was to be paid after R.H. was dead.
Danforth was arrested at the Spokane International Airport in December 2018 after spending a week-long vacation in Hawaii.
Of the arrest, she told KHQ: 'It was really early in the morning so was mainly just tired from my flight then shocked, but I didn't want to freak out'.
Her IMDb page lists Danforth under eight pornographic films from 2005 to 2010.
